I am a researcher at the Biodiversity Research Institute (IMIB), CSIC-University of Oviedo-Principality of Asturias, Spain. I obtained in 2019 the Ph.D. degree in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences from the University of Zaragoza (Spain), graduating summa cum laude, with international mention, and receiving the Ph.D. Extraordinary Award. I also hold an MSc in Soil and Water Management (2015, University of Lleida, Spain) and a BSc in Environmental Sciences (2013, University Miguel Hernández of Elche, Spain).
I have been a visiting researcher at the Institute of Agrobiology and Natural Resources of Sevilla (IRNAS-CSIC, Sevilla, Spain, 2014) and at the Moscow Forestry Sciences Laboratory of the US Forest Service (Moscow, Idaho, USA, 2018). Between 2019-2022, I was a post-doctoral research fellow at the CESAM (Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal).
My current research focuses on:
Wildfire and prescribed fire effects on soil physical, chemical, and biological properties.
Assessment, mitigation, and modelling of post-fire soil erosion.
The role of post-fire soil erosion in the Carbon cycle.
